Are Photography Retreats Worth It?

Hi friends, welcome back to the podcast! Today we are talking about our Certification Retreat in July! I sat down with members of Certification to chat about their experience in the retreat and answer the question: are photography retreats worth it?

This week we talked about our key takeaways from the retreat:

  • The importance of conversations around the dinner table about imposter syndrome, authenticity, and creativity
  • Access to a community of people who get it, other photographers who speak the same language
  • Being with people in real life for portfolio reviews, problem solving and feedback
  • Real time learning – adapting to the needs and questions of the group, receiving immediate feedback, practicing with new equipment before buying (did we mention that B&H was there?!)
  • Building confidence, rejuvenating passion, peer mentoring
  • Our amazing community: zero gatekeeping, no competition, uplifting each other

The verdict: Certification is worth it and the retreat is a huge part of that! Here are some excerpts from our conversation:

“It is absolutely worth the time and money to invest in yourself and your business.”

“I’m an entirely new person in one year thanks to this program.”

“You’re putting photographers on a fast track to success because there’s no gatekeeping, there’s no fear of feeling silly or failing.” And I think that’s really amazing.”
