Sandra Coan Certification Review

Laura Watts Walsh joined Sandra Coan Certification in May of 2023, and earned her certification in April of 2024!

Her work is absolutely stunning!!! And I’m SO very proud to have worked with her over the past year.

Laura is one of those photographers who’ve been doing it for a long time, over 15 years at the time of this recording, but is fairly new to the business side of photography.

When she joined the program in May of 2023, she’d only been in business for about a year. In her application she shared that her biggest struggles were finding clients (relatable), that marketing piece can be hard if you’ve never been taught how to do it and confidence.  She had a lot of imposter syndrome!

Fast forward to today, one year later, she’s ranking on Google, she has a clear consistent portfolio, she’s doing what she LOVES, not what she feels pressured to do and she has a ton of confidence. She is excited, yes excited, about marketing her business!

One of the benefits about being in the Sandra Coan Certification program is the opportunity to have one-on-one meetings with me as you work through the program.

I do this so I can offer support, but also so you can get feedback and critique on your work so that you know you are on the right path and you are learning the things. If you need help, I can help you on those calls. If you have questions, I can answer them for you. Also, it’s really fun for me to be able to see your progress as you go!

To earn certification, members submit a portfolio of 150 to 200 images that are then scored on a rubric, like a report card. We can work on fine tuning that portfolio on our mentoring calls as you work through the program. I want to make sure that the people who submit for certification are ready, and going to succeed.

So, a few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to sit down with Laura for her final one-on-one meetings with me before she submitted her final portfolio for certification, and I’m sharing the recording from that call today.

I know a lot of people have questions about what the one-on-one calls are like, so you can listen to one!

Now, when I sat down to talk to Laura I had no intention of sharing our conversation, but as we talked she reflected on what she’s learned over the past year inside of Sandra Coan Certification – it was just really inspiring and I thought it would be helpful to hear for those of you who are considering applying.

We’re opening applications in a couple of weeks, so be sure to get your name on the waitlist!

Also, just want to let you know, Laura passed her certification review with flying colors and is now, officially, a Sandra Coan Certified photographer!!!  Congratulations Laura!!!

And if you want to check out her work, we’ll link her instagram and her website here.

Also, as you listen to us talk, take some time to survey where you are in your business, in your photography, in your confidence at this moment, and imagine where you would like to be this time next year because I’m confident, we can help you get there!
